Angel: Phil makes me happy
Angel Locsin admits she and Phil Younghusband are happy together even if they refuse to put a label on their relationship.
Angel, who has just been included in the cast of ABS-CBN’s sitcom “Todo Max,” looked happy and vibrant when she faced the press last December 6 at the ABS-CBN compound. This is the first time she’s doing comedy. And it’s far different from her usual drama and action roles.
The 26-year-old actress shared that she’s happy for the blessings and projects she always gets.
Is Phil the reason for her happiness?
“Marami namang factors. Pero yung nagbibigay kilig at happiness, si Phil,” Angel says, smiling.
Angel admits she never thought they would be as close as they are now.
Love in a hopeless place
“Sabi ko sa kanya nung una ayaw ko syang i-meet kasi parang hindi pa ko ready for dating or entering in a relationship. Parang ‘We found love in a hopeless place,’” Angel relates, quoting Rihanna’s song.
Even if they are always seen dating, Angel and Phil have been consistent in saying they are special to each other. But neither of them has confirmed the status of their relationship.
“Kami ni Phil, pumasok sya sa buhay ko sa time na ayaw ko na ng commitment, ayaw ko na ng relationship. Tapos, nagtry sya mag-ask although hindi pa kami pareho ng gusto. Ngayon, hindi lang namin napapagusapan. Parang ganun,” she explains.
Angel says their situation works for both of them. She also understands that some people don’t buy their “not-yet-a-couple” status.
“Wala naman akong nakikitang masama, kung yun ang mas nagwo-work sa amin. Marami nga dyan kasal na pero madami namang problema. Hindi lang siguro naiintindihan ng mga tao pero masaya kami,” she says.
Angel explains that her happiness with Phil is something that is constant and lingering.
“Parang high school lang, parang ganun. Kung naexperience mo yung kilig nung high school, parang ganun, hindi nawawala,” Angel shares.
Angel and Phil are busy with their respective careers, but they always cheer and support each other. Angel always watches the Azkals' major games, while Phil always goes with Angel in special functions.
“Kung merong humahanga sa’yo, nag-aalaga sa’yo, inspired ka to do better at happy ka lang,” she relates.
First comedy
She is just as happy about her new sitcom. Angel shares that she never thought she would be doing a comedy after ten years in showbiz.
“Naisip ko na never akong mabibigyan ng chance kasi hindi ko pa napapasok ang ganitong genre. Pero masaya ako habang ginagawa ko ito. Kahit nung guest pa lang ako,” Angel explains.
Angel plays the role of Isbale Padausdos, the girlfriend of Justin (Vhong Navarro’s character). She was originally a guest in the first two episodes but was offered to become a mainstay.
“Nung una nag-hesitate ako, pero nung nakita ko kung gaano sila kasaya, gusto kong maging part nito,” she says.
How is her role different from her previous characters?
“Iba yung timing, iba yung energy. Sa drama kasi tamlayay-tamlayan school of acting ko. Dito dapat lagging mataas ang energy mo,” Angel replies.
Robin Padilla and Pokwang also star in “Todo Max”, which airs every Saturday after “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
It's Vic & Pauleen!
As you can see, there’s an exclamation point in today’s headline as a way to herald a new chapter in Vic Sotto’s checkered love life — and in Pauleen Luna’s, too!
Yes, they are “officially” an item as confirmed to Funfare by somebody close to them, that’s why you must have noticed some very subtle sweetness in the way they treat each other on Eat, Bulaga! where Vic is “bossing” and Pauleen now the show’s new “first lady,” replacing Vic’s ex-girlfriend Pia Guanio who is now happily married to Steve Mago.
Notice any, uhm, slight friction between Pia and Pauleen? None so far. Pia is happy with her new love and Vic should be with his. Live and let live, love and let love.
Now, did you know that Vic and Pauleen are somewhat connected? When Pauleen was at ABS-CBN, Jericho Rosales was reported to have shown interest in her, much to the chagrin of Kristine Hermosa who was then Jericho’s girlfriend. Now, Kristine is the wife of Vic’s son Oyo (the couple has a months-old child). Small world, isn’t it?
If you see somebody who looks like Vic Sotto with somebody who looks like Pauleen Luna perhaps having a quiet dinner in an A-list restaurant or vacationing in a neighboring province (soon, abroad?), you should know who they are.
Total lunar eclipse on Saturday
A total eclipse of the moon will occur on Saturday, a rare event that will not happen again for the next seven years.
The process will start at 6:33 p.m. at that time the moon will rise in the eastern horizon while the sun’s rays are still reflected in the sky, tempo.co reported on Thursday.
Director of Bosscha Observatory Hakim Lutfi Malasan said that the moon will enter the shadow of the earth at 7:44 p.m. For the next 80 minutes, the surface of the moon will be gradually covered by the earth’s shadow. The total eclipse will last about 50 minutes with the peak at 9:32 p.m. The whole process will last till Sunday at 00:30.
Unfortunately, observers might not be able to watch the eclipse properly due to clouds and bad weather. It is predicted that West Nusa
Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara are among the provinces that will have clear sky.

Direct observation will be made from six points: Lembang, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Bandung, Pekanbaru, and Mataram.
Viloria unfazed by foe's No. 9 world ranking, 6-rd prediction
MANILA, Philippines - Brian Viloria, the reigning WBO flyweight champion, said he doesn’t mind if his challenger, Giovani Segura of Mexico, is ranked No. 9 in Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound list.
He also said he doesn’t care about the prediction made by Segura’s trainer, Javier Capetillo, that all they need is six rounds to wrest the 112 lb title away from the Filipino champ.
“It doesn’t matter even if he’s number one pound-for-pound. I’m not gonna be afraid of him unless he has four hands,” said Viloria during yesterday’s official press conference.
The fight is set Sunday at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City. Since the exciting card will be beamed live to the United States, the main bout will take place at around noontime.
The official weigh-in is set at 10 a.m. Saturday at the beautiful Midas Hotel along Roxas Boulevard.
Viloria and Segura, former amateur boxers and former sparring partners, came face to face at The Paladium in Makati City, and talked about the coming fight set for 12 rounds.
Viloria, also the former world light-flyweight champion, fielded the opening questions that had to do with Segura’s pound-for-pound ranking and Capetillo’s bold prediction.
“In this type of sport everybody wants to predict how the fight would go. But in reality it’s unpredictable. Anything can happen,” said Viloria, who turned 31 only 13 days ago.
